Day Three Hundred Four

Happy Halloween!

Daughter Kelly channels Michael Jackson. She had all the moves and looked more like him than he did!

Kelly, Sarah, Julia, Jerry, Holly, Shelby and Elijah ready for some trick or treating.

The Myers Family: Jerry was a priest-meets-The Matrix, Holly, Shelby and Elijah were vampires.

The Priest and The Vampire

Vampires!

Niece Sarah dressed up like our youth minister (and looked more like him than he did!). Niece Julia was a very convincing iPod.

The church youth minister doesn't know what to make of the king of pop.

One neighbor used the honor system and left the candy bowl on the porch. Elijah led the way to each door most of the evening.

Trick or treat! Kiss my feet!

Give me something good to eat!

Waiting for the hand out.

We all piled in Jerry's truck and took off for one of the most popular trick or treating neighborhoods in town.

Jane held on for dear life in the back of the truck--a very chilly ride!

King of Pop, Youth Minister, and iPod ready to make their haul. (Sarah looks like she stepped in something....)

Most of the houses in this neighborhood are up on hillsides. So some of the residents offered curb service. One offered not only candy but hot cider.

These two ghouls are niece Ashley and nephew Ethan, who dropped by after making their own candy rounds.

This bunch is enough to give anybody nightmares!

Nephew Chris joined the trick or treaters as they settled around the table to play a game of Nertz.

My little pumpkin I carved free hand. First one I've carved in many years. This is one of the most fun Halloweens I've had in years! I usually stay at the house and feed the spooks while everyone else goes trick or treating, but tonight brother in law Don took over that job for me (he was quite content to stay at the house and watch the UT/South Carolina game while he doled out candy to the spooks). So I got to go along and watch the kids have fun gathering their candy. We ate chili and candy and cookies, drank some hot spiced apple cider and to top off this fun evening, the Tennessee Volunteers beat the South Carolina Gamecocks 31-13!! (Don't you love those numbers) The Volunteers wore black jerseys for the first time in 87 years! They looked great in their orange and black. What a Happy Halloween! I hope you had a good one, too.
