Day One Hundred Seventy Three 2010

Splash!

Neil took a half day off after lunch today, and we took the grand kids swimming at Echo Valley Pool. It was a nice hot day to be in the pool, which was crazy crowded with screaming kids.

Elijah refused a flotation device and practiced submerging himself with his eyes open doing a dog paddle. He's used to swimming in a lake with a life jacket on. He was so proud that he could open his eyes under water.

These two are definitely water babies.

Shelby is a regular mermaid. She likes to jump off the diving board into the nine foot deep end. Elijah will get there, too, someday. We had a good time (especially after the crowd thinned out). As Shelby so bluntly put it: It's better than sitting at home watching TV. She's right, of course. I'm sure they'll want to do this again soon.

It was a great day to be in the pool or water of any kind! Elijah has become quite the water dog :) I was always too chicken to open my eyes under water. Did you and Neil get in the pool? I refilled our spa on Friday and left the heat off. Me and T got in today. It was quite refreshing :)

Oh yeah, Neil and I got in the pool :) We floated around on our noodle thingys, trying not to get run over by rude day camp kids. It was a zoo! The water was like bath water, but it felt pretty good.

Looks cool and refreshing! How much do they charge to get in Echo Valley these days?

$6.00 to get in I've heard. Worth it on a day like this! Looks very refreshing!!! Glad Elijah's comfortable in the water. Last summer (I think) I took Shelby and Elijah swimming and I spent the entire time catching him as he jumped into the baby pool. Shelby had her mermaid fin. Fun times!!!
