Day One Hundred Eighty Eight 2011

My grandpeeps, Elijah and Shelby, at Echo Valley Swimming Pool this afternoon. They have such a brief time to enjoy the summer before school starts again. School has been out for several weeks now (in fact, school will begin again in about two weeks) and I had not taken them swimming. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing. I knew there was a chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon, but it was a really nice day for the pool--hot, but not too hot with some clouds to keep the sun from scorching us. We got there at two and enjoyed about an hour and a half of cool splashing before one of the lifeguards yelled, "I hear thunder! Everybody out of the pool!" Then it started to pour rain. So that was that. We had some fun while it lasted. Maybe we'll try again next week. And if we don't make it to the pool again, we do have the beach to look forward to before our summer is just a memory.

Glad you got to take the kiddos swimming today. The looks on their faces says it all :0) The pool is the place to be on a hot summer day. Sorry it had to rain! That blue water sure looks nice.

That does look refreshing! The rain just popped up. Sorry you didn't get to swim long. And the beach is way better than the pool anyway!

I bet they loved every minute of the pool today though brief! Don't worry, they'll get their night swim on at the condo in a couple of weeks!
