Day One Hundred Thirty Five 2012

Look what showed up at my front door sometime yesterday afternoon. We have no idea where he came from. He just suddenly appeared on our front porch, all cuddled up on the doormat. He's either lost or someone dumped him. He seems to be part beagle and part something else. And, yes I know he's cute as all get out, but Neil and I don't want any more pets. We haven't made any efforts to find his owner, if he has one, because daughter Holly and grand kids Shelby and Elijah have already fallen in love with him. Shelby calls him Benjamin or Ben but says he looks like a Rocky. He's been fed and watered and given a (temporary) pillow to cuddle up on. He's already used my wicker rocker as a chew toy, and he's out there on the porch, wailing right now for attention. I don't know why he chose our house. We are cat magnets. Just ask the neighbor cat, Lily, who hangs out in our wicker rocker. No one seems to be missing this cute face. Maybe by this time tomorrow, he'll have a nice home with a couple of kids who have already claimed him as their own.

What a pretty little pup! I hope the Myers decide to adopt him. So sad that someone would dump him :( How is Elijah's foot? I hope it isn't broken!

Elijah got his foot x-rayed this morning but I don't know if Holly has heard back yet on if it's broken or not. He has crutches and is trying to learn how to use them :)

What a cute face!!!! There's just something warm and friendly about The Ranft House that attracts animals! You ought to take him door to door or report to the animal shelter...someone is missing their pup :o(

The puppy vanished off the front porch early Tuesday morning, and we haven't seen him since. We fed him puppy food and watered him and I think he got his strength back. He got more active and started to play. Either his owner walked or drove by and saw him on the porch and just picked him up and took him away, or he's out exploring and hopefully found his way back home. I just hope he's safe and well-cared for with somebody who loves him.
