Day Nine

Bony Fingers Of Ice

These bony fingers of ice look like they've got a bit of arthritis going on. I love icicles, but I haven't noticed any around until today. They were growing out of the gutter down spouts. Cool!

Day Eight

I Wish ....

Shelby and Elijah wanted to go outside and play in the snow this morning. I would have let them, but it was 12 degrees. I had to say no, and we moved on to do other things like play Old Maid and Connect Four.

They finally got their wish at lunch time, because we were crazy enough to bundle up and go out onto the frozen tundra to the Dairy Queen, of all places, where they enjoyed ice cream cones after they ate lunch. When we got back home, they started scooping up snow and tossing it into the air. It's powdery and flies away quickly. I let them do that for a minute and then they were ready to go inside. Shelby said, "Now I see why you didn't want us to go out!"

Day Seven

Mrs. Cardinal

She didn't mind the snow that finally fell here this afternoon. The snow didn't amount to much, but it sure was a slick drive home from the dentist. No school again tomorrow. Mrs. Cardinal doesn't mind that, either.

Day Six

May I Come Inside, Please?

This is Eddie Kitty's first Winter. He always gets caught on the wrong side of the door because he forgets how cold it is outside. Will he ever learn? Stay tuned.

Day Five

Tuesday + School Day = Elijah and Shelby

These two assume the position after school, scarfing up Pudding Pops and Bomb Pops while watching 'Phineas and Ferb'. They both had a good first day back in school after the two week break.
