Day Two Hundred Eighty Seven 2010

"I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house. So I spend almost all the daylight hours in the open air." ~~Nathaniel Hawthorne

Picture Postcards (In Solaris) From 'The 'Side' (Mom's Place)

Family gatherings for lunch at my mom's place is always fun. We did manage to go outside to soak up some of that brilliant autumn sunshine and enjoy the roses still blooming in the garden and say hello to their resident kitty. We call him 'Persian', but Elijah calls him 'Butter'. We ended up at Jane's house to watch 'A Hard Day's Night' and eat candy corn. Not too shabby, eh? Good time autumn days.

"Bittersweet October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter." ~~Carol Bishop Hipps

Day Two Hundred Eighty Five 2010

Bikers

Grand kids Elijah and Shelby got in a little bike riding this afternoon in the school driveway, which is smooth and long and wide and best of all empty during fall break. And it is one activity that does not require a remote control. Good times. Great kids.

Day Two Hundred Eighty Four 2010

Where IS The Beef?

My hubby Neil will tell you that I have a bad habit of rearranging the stuff on my burgers or sandwiches or subs. Yes. I confess. I do this more often than not. I kind of like to see what I'm going to bite into before I bite into it. Today was no exception. Lunch at Burger King. Jr Whopper, no cheese. And apparently no beef. Isn't this the same place that asked Where's The Beef back in the eighties or some such? I felt like taking it back and saying You gotta be kidding me. Instead, I had it my way--did a little rearranging then tore off the extra bread around the meat. Good little burger. I shoulda had fries with that.
