"All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt."— Susan Sontag

Day Two Hundred Twenty One 2010
Ice Ice Kitty
Another scorcher today. Buddy Cat enjoyed the ice cubes I slipped into his water dish. I've never understood why something that is forced to wear a fur coat year round refuses to stay indoors where it's cooler. Cats. Go figure.
I feel bad for our cats, but the heat doesn't seem to faze them. I can only imagine how it would feel to be out in this heat wearing a fur coat and not being able to take it off :( Jessie cat kills me. She loves to be on the front porch in the afternoon where it's the hottest. I guess it feels good to her old bones.
Our cats freak out when I put ice cubes in their water dish, but they always have to check it out! :-)
