"Ah! the year is slowly dying,
And the wind in tree-top sighing,
Chant his requiem.
Thick and fast the leaves are falling,
High in air wild birds are calling,
Nature's solemn hymn."
- Mary Weston Fordham, Passing of the Old Year
"All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt."— Susan Sontag

The bare trees look great with that overcast sky! What a yucky day! Where are you finding all these great quotes?
Rainy days & Mondays! I love the quote & pic!
Was today Monday? Been stuck at the house since Friday. Going loopy. Tuesday's weather looks pretty bad. Not looking forward to more dreary days.
