Day One Hundred Sixty Two 2013

0611031220
Lunch Bunch Peeps in Dogwood Park today: niece Julia, hubby Neil, sister Ann, sister Jane and brother Ken. Missing from this picture are niece Sarah who came and ate and had to leave, and nephew Chris who didn’t make it at all because he forgot and was tied up at work and couldn’t have made it anyway even if he had remembered. We always enjoy getting together, no matter who’s there. Thankful for the shade and the nice breeze. Don’t they look like they’re having fun?

Day Two Hundred Twenty Nine 2012

0816021216
Lunch Bunch Peeps! These days the get-together is every other week, but the tradition lives. Today’s group: daughter Kelly, daughter Holly, hubby Neil, nephew Chris, sister Ann, grandson Knox, and brother Ken (and me). We met in Dogwood Park with good food and good conversation and, as always, lots of laughs. The day was warm, but we were blessed with some shade and a nice breeze every now and then. Knox came home with red cheeks and nose, a first for him. Fun stuff. Until next time….

Day Two Hundred Fifteen 2012

0802021235
My Lunch Bunch Peeps! Niece Sarah, great nephew Ethan, great niece Ashley, nephew Chris, sister Ann, sister Jane, and niece Julia. We try to keep a long-running weekly lunchtime get together. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t. The kids were out of school for election day here, so this particular group of peeps gathered at Zaxby’s and enjoyed some chicken and milkshakes, conversation and lots of laughs. We are a blessed family, especially in the sense that we truly love each other, and yes, even like each other enough that we go out of our way to be together whenever and wherever we can. How many families can make that claim?

Day One Hundred Fifty Two 2012

Since my mom passed away a month ago, our family lunch bunch had to find a new venue if we were to continue the weekly tradition. Sister Ann suggested Dogwood Park for our rowdy group, so we gathered there today where the picnic tables are near the pavilion (a stage where local talent performs concerts and plays during the summer months). We enjoyed eating lunch and hanging out together and the forecasted storms stayed far to the west of us. I didn't realize until I was looking at this picture just now that I took it too soon because the rest of the gang had not shown up yet--nephew Chris and his kids Ashley and Ethan. Sorry about that! Left to right are daughter Holly, brother Ken, sister Ann, sister Jane and hubby Neil, all at the picnic table. On the quilt are grandson Elijah, niece Sarah, niece Julia, and grand daughter Shelby. We plan to continue our lunch bunch tradition. Dogwood Park is the perfect place for now.
