Day One Hundred One 2012
The Hula Hoop lives! Two bored grand kids resorted to showing off their skills with this big plastic circle this afternoon after school. Elijah can't quite get the hang of it, so he used it as a jump rope. Shelby is very good at spinning it, even around her knees. Good to know they can still make their own fun in the sun.

Day One Hundred 2012
I searched for my lost shaker of salt, as Jimmy Buffett sings, but I couldn't find it anywhere. On Easter Sunday, my family gathered in the back yard and ate hard boiled eggs, passing around the shaker of salt. It never made it back to the kitchen, so this morning I searched all over the back yard and all around the swing where we were gathered, and I never could find it. This afternoon, I was sitting on the swing with grandson Knox, watching my two other grandpeeps Shelby and Elijah throw a Frisbee. I looked down and there it sat--my lost shaker of salt--on the swing where someone set it after all the hard boiled eggs were gone. As we say in the South, if it had been a snake, it would have bit me. Can you find the lost shaker of salt?

Day Ninety Eight 2012
This is what happens when human fingers accidentally come in contact with the propeller of an electric engine radio controlled airplane--a visit to the emergency medical clinic, seven stitches total on two fingers, a tetanus shot, and a bottle of antibiotics. My hubby Neil's passion for flying RC airplanes sometimes backfires on him, quite unexpectedly, especially when one of his electric airplanes suddenly takes off (total freak accident) and the wing hits him in the leg, turns the plane right into his hand, and the prop slices through two of his fingers (to the bone on his ring finger). I can't even begin to explain to you how this happened. He says he was going out of his way to be extra careful around the propeller. Suffice it to say, this was a comedy of errors (daughter Kelly and I were laughing so hard we had tears). And it could have been so much worse. For this RC pilot, lesson learned. The hard way.

Day Ninety Seven 2012
Grandson Knox is here this weekend and brought his mommy with him. He's four months old now and cute as a bug. In this picture, he's checking out the pattern on the quilt that Neil and I bought for his mom just before she was born almost thirty-five years ago. What goes around, comes around, as the saying goes.
