Day Two Hundred Nineteen 2013
Lesson for the day: Never park your car beside a road that floods in a heavy downpour. That little red car is mine. I went to climb in after Neil and I had finished our subs and had waited out the heavy rain, never thinking that the car coming toward me on that street was going to drive through that flood and send a giant wave of water into me. If I hadn’t had my umbrella over me, I would have been drenched from head to toe. I still got soaked from chest to Crocs. And was about to get soaked again, but the next car in line took pity on me and slowed down enough so that the wave wasn’t a tsunami. It's funny because we were sitting in a window booth, watching this road start to flood when I took this random picture, and I was thinking that anybody standing out there on the sidewalk would get drowned by the wave from a passing car. Well, duh! [Where's a surf board when you need one?]

Day Two Hundred Nine 2013
This praying mantis hitched a ride on our rear view mirror today. He must have been on his way to church, it being Sunday and all. We’d already been to worship service, so he missed the sermon. But he did get off in the church parking lot when we stopped by there to pick up Neil’s truck after lunch. Perhaps he’ll make it to the evening service.

Day One Hundred Seventy Three 2013
Neil and I always seem to be standing in an ugly parking lot when there’s a beautiful rainbow in the sky. There have been many rainbows in our sky lately. Makes you want to stop and stare. Earlier this afternoon, we sat on our front porch and enjoyed cool breezes an area storm was stirring up and the rumble of thunder which is one of my favorite sounds. Hope there was something special about your Saturday, too.

Day Ten 2013
"Wal-mart... do they like make walls there?"
~Paris Hilton
Sometimes I wish I’d never heard of this place, but when what’s left of the milk has reached its expiration date (today) and you don’t know if it will last another day, and you can’t bear the thought of not having any milk to pour over your cereal in the morning, then it’s off to Wal-Mart you go. I ended up buying lots more than milk, of course, because the thought of having to come back here any time soon was simply unacceptable. A man in the parking lot did offer to take my cart to the cart return along with his. Wasn’t that nice? Oh, Paris, you have no idea what you’re missing!
