Day One Hundred Forty Five

Berry Pickin' (And Eatin') Time!

Our Mulberry tree in the back yard has once again sprouted a bumper crop of berries, already ripe for the picking.

Grand son Elijah and grand daughter Shelby love picking the berries off the tree. Their mom (daughter Holly) did, too, when she was about Shelby's age.

Shelby is tall enough this year to easily reach the berries.

Elijah can reach some of the lower ones, but I pull the branch down so he can get to them and pick his own. He only wants the black/deep purple ones. No reddish ones, please. They're still too tart.

Enjoying the harvest! They even picked some to share with their mom and dad. Then it was off to wash up and brush their teeth. The berries will be around for about a month. One of these days, I'm going to have to try to make a Mulberry pie. Yum!
