Day Two Hundred Sixty Three 2011

The bear toss game--Grandson Elijah and I take turns tossing little stuffed bears into a basket.  He hasn’t wanted to play that in a long time until today. I thought he’d outgrown all the “baby” toys in the toy box upstairs, but lately he’s enjoyed getting back into that stuff like building things with the giant Legos blocks. Maybe he’s just feeling a little nostalgic for the old days or maybe the thrill of the video games has worn off. Finally. (That blue bear landed right inside the basket. He hasn’t lost his touch.)

Here as we move into the shadows of autumn
The night that brings the morning of spring
Come to us, Lord of Harvest
Teach us to be thankful for the gifts you bring us ..."

Grand daughter Shelby got her hair cut Friday and the hairdresser braided her hair. Doesn’t she look cute? I think so, not that I’m prejudiced or anything.

Morning Glories are a sure sign of Fall and are most definitely a cool weather bloom. I had never noticed the star shape the petals make until now. These seem to glow in the center, as though they contain their own inner light. I can imagine you could hear a tiny chorus of angels singing if you put your ear close enough.  Maybe that’s why they’re called Morning Glories.
