God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth,' and to the rain shower, 'Be a mighty downpour.'.... The breath of God produces ice, and the broad waters become frozen. He loads the clouds with moisture; he scatters his lightning through them. At his direction they swirl around over the face of the whole earth to do whatever he commands them. He brings the clouds to punish men, or to water his earth and show his love. ~~Job 37:5-7 , 10-13

Day Forty Nine 2012
Neil and I had a great time visiting grandson Knox and his mom and dad today. He's growing up fast! Loves his musical mobile and laughs and "talks" and coos. All the little sounds and faces he makes are so precious! Those tiny legs and arms are always on the move. He's so lovable I could squeeze the stuffing out of him. Already looking forward to the next time we can visit. Miss you guys!

Day Forty Eight 2012
Grandson Elijah's kindergarten class studied the American Bald Eagle today. He made this nifty Bald Eagle hat and allowed me to take his picture with it on his head. He couldn't remember much about the bird until I reminded him that it is the national bird of the good old U.S. of A. His main impression of his picture of the Bald Eagle was that it looked like an Angry Bird (of Angry Birds video game fame). I think he's right. It's that arched eyebrow. It's a fitting symbol of our great nation (sorry, Ben Franklin, not the turkey, of all things). Here's a link if you want to learn more about the American Bald Eagle--a fascinating (if not angry) bird.

Day Forty Seven 2012
I love those who can smile in trouble,
who can gather strength from
distress, and grow brave by
reflection. 'Tis the business of little
minds to shrink, but they whose heart
is firm, and whose conscience
approves their conduct, will pursue
their principles unto death.
