Day Two Hundred Seventeen 2012
Visiting grandson Knox and daughter Kelly today. First time we’ve been to their house since the end of June. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Chop House.
He’s got three teeth now, and a fourth coming in soon, so he’s got his own toothbrush. He likes to brush his teeth.
He’s about to outgrow that changing table. We haven’t seen him in almost two weeks (must be a record), so he seems a lot bigger to us today.
Peekaboo!
He got a cool new toy to play with from Babies R Us. He isn’t crawling yet, but he can pull himself up to a standing position and just might walk before he crawls.
Bath time!
Bath water tastes terrible!
He was also happy to get to visit with his aunt Holly and cousin Shelby who dropped by after a day of shop till you drop. (It’s tax free weekend here in our state). Knox is such a sweetie, eight months old now, and changing so much every time we see him. He’s off to bed now. Sweet dreams!

Day Two Hundred Sixteen 2012
By perseverance the snail reached the ark.
~Charles Spurgeon
There’s a lesson in there for us. I like these dictionary definitions of the word perseverance.
perseverance — n
1.
continued steady belief or efforts, withstanding discouragement or difficulty; persistence
2.
Christianity persistence in remaining in a state of grace until death
If perseverance can pay off for a lowly snail, then I know that God will reward his obedient and faithful servants with an eternal home in heaven.
Happy TGIF, everyone!

Day Two Hundred Fifteen 2012
My Lunch Bunch Peeps! Niece Sarah, great nephew Ethan, great niece Ashley, nephew Chris, sister Ann, sister Jane, and niece Julia. We try to keep a long-running weekly lunchtime get together. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t. The kids were out of school for election day here, so this particular group of peeps gathered at Zaxby’s and enjoyed some chicken and milkshakes, conversation and lots of laughs. We are a blessed family, especially in the sense that we truly love each other, and yes, even like each other enough that we go out of our way to be together whenever and wherever we can. How many families can make that claim?

Day Two Hundred Fourteen 2012
I support Chick Fil A and the courageous stance its president has taken on Christian values. I admire people who aren’t afraid to say what they believe and stand by it, even in the face of ridicule. I wanted to join in the support for this restaurant and buy one of their awesome peach milkshakes. As you can see from these pictures, our local Chick Fil A was overwhelmed with support today, and alas, my peach milkshake will have to wait until another, less busy day.
