Never Forget
"Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror. The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness and a quiet, unyielding anger."
--George W. Bush
"War has been waged against us by stealth and deceit and murder. This nation is peaceful, but fierce when stirred to anger. This conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others. It will end in a way, and at an hour, of our choosing."
--George W. Bush, Speech at National Cathedral, September 14, 2001

Day Two Hundred Fifty Two 2012
Knox…in the hood. Property of Monkey Business
We went to Fall Fun Fest on the courthouse square this afternoon after the rain went away and the sun decided to come out. Neil and I browsed the crafts and bought some pottery bowls and mugs and a couple of tie dyed things for the grandkids. We hung out at Poet’s and enjoyed some frozen hot chocolate while daughter Kelly visited with one of her long-time friends.
Knox and Kelly hangin’ at the Fest.
Crock o’ Knox! Having a blast playing with anything that is not a toy. Woo Hoo! Good time Saturday.

Day Two Hundred Fifty One 2012
Grandson Elijah’s elementary school has one very important fundraiser each year—The Cougar Run. The kids collect pledges for every lap they run/walk (or a flat donation). The school mascot is the cougar, and as we all know, cougars run very fast. The first grade classes were the first up to run this morning. Beautiful blue sky and hot sunshine and no breeze made for some red faces, but Elijah ran most of his laps—15 total. I’m proud of him for his determination and his good job helping to raise money for his school. All the kids were pooped by the time their run was over, but they got to enjoy a picnic lunch later and a relaxed work day, and a lot of them got to leave school early. He chose to leave early (what kid in his right mind wouldn’t?) and hang out at Granny’s house, playing video games, watching TV and eating Bomb Pops. And I love his spiked hair! His mom spiked it for this event. Gives him an edge, don’t you think? Happy TGIF, everyone!
