Day Three 2013

Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside.
~Mark Twain (1835~1910)

That’s what Neil and I did this evening for supper at Ocha Thai food deli. After surviving the demon stomach virus, we decided we could handle something hot and spicy. If the food decides to fight it out inside, at least it tasted yummy on the way down.

Day Two 2013

IMG_8285
Climbing my way up Mount Wash More this evening, trying to kill what’s possibly left of a nasty bug. My whole family was hit with a demon stomach flu virus the day after Christmas. After a week of sickness, the adults are recovering pretty quickly. Something like this seems to hit the kiddos the hardest. One year old grandson Knox had it the worst, as far as getting over it. I think we’re all finally over the worst. (Son in law Jerry just might be the last man standing. We shall see. I hope he escapes it.) All that’s left is a big old pile of laundry, mostly bed linens and towels. And if I never see another can of Lysol spray or Clorox wipes again, it won’t be too soon. I pray that the rest of you out there are staying well. It is a hand to mouth thing, so wash.your.hands!

Day Three Hundred Sixty Six 2012

IMG_8260
Tonight’s December thirty-first,
Something is about to burst.
The clock is crouching, dark and small,
Like a time bomb in the hall.
Hark, it's midnight, children dear.
Duck! Here comes another year!

Day Three Hundred Sixty Five 2012

iPad pics 022
My family got hit with the stomach flu bug after Christmas. Daughter Kelly was the first to get zapped, then they started falling like dominoes. Grandson Knox, grandson Elijah, and son in law Kerry suffered (or are still suffering) with this crud. Daughter Holly is iffy at this point. Hubby Neil says he refuses to get it, but it’s not looking too good for him, either. Kelly is over it, and Knox has finally come through it, as you can see from the picture. I’m patiently waiting my turn at this, for no one seems to escape it once exposed. Keep a good thought for us! Hope you all stay healthy on this next to last day of 2012. Today is Day Three Hundred Sixty Five, but this was a leap year, so we get an extra day. Happy New Year’s Eve Eve!
