Day Seventy Three 2011

You know Jeremiah....the bullfrog. He's a good friend of mine. I never understood his frog talk, but I helped him drink some sunshine this past Saturday when I took his picture while he contemplated the buttercups. Joy to the world, y'all. It sure could use some.

Day Seventy Two 2011

"I object to being told that I am saving daylight when my reason tells me that I am doing nothing of the kind... At the back of the Daylight Saving scheme, I detect the bony, blue-fingered hand of Puritanism, eager to push people into bed earlier, and get them up earlier, to make them healthy, wealthy, and wise in spite of themselves."
~~ Robertson Davies

I am the only person on Planet Earth who detests daylight savings time. Don't get me wrong. I don't begrudge anyone their "extra" hour of daylight at the end of the day during spring and summer. The time change--"losing" that hour--messes with my internal clock. By the time I'm adjusted to it, fall will be here and I'll get back to my normal. I love clocks, and we have many all over the house, so this year I insisted that my DST-loving husband be in charge of moving all the clocks forward, since he adores this time change. And in the fall, I will gladly move them back again. It's all so ridiculous when you think about it. So I'm just not going to think about it. Until November.

Day Seventy One 2011

Happy 52nd Birthday, little sister Ann!! I was six years old when she was born on this day in 1959, and what more could a girl ask for! I had my very own live baby doll to play with. I'm so blessed to have her in my life and so thankful that we are not only loving sisters but close friends as well. Wishing you a rockin' birthday! Big love and bear hugs from your big sis!

Day Seventy 2011

Gunfight At Granny And Grandpa's

Neil bought a three pack of little guns for five bucks that shoot spongy missiles. He had the day off today, so he and grandson Elijah chased each other all over the house, shooting at each other. It was all out war and they both won because they both had such a great time playing with each other. Hope your TGIF was fun!
