Grand kids Elijah and Shelby checked out a vintage piece of L&N railroad history at the depot this afternoon.

"All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt."— Susan Sontag

This is so cool! Is this a permanent part of the depot? I love the expressions on Elijah and Shelby's faces in that first shot :)
Yes, this is a permanent display. The depot historians are working hard to restore the train cars. Lately vandals have broken the origianl windows in one of the cars and the glass had to be replaced but it'll never be the same. The Herald Citizen ran a story in yesterday's paper about the renovations. It's pretty cool.
That upsets me about the vandalism. People can be so mean! We enjoy visiting the trains now & then, too!
