Daughter Kelly and grandson Knox stylin’ with the Old Navy mannequins this afternoon. (Knox didn’t know what to make of these weird people.)

Day One Hundred Forty One

T.G.I.F. At The Nashville Flea Market

That's the great thing about the flea market--you can wear just any old thing and nobody cares. Red heels, green bag, sequined gown. Let's go junkin!

These cast iron mermaids were my favorite thing I saw all afternoon. There was a fourth one sitting all by herself in a chair. Wouldn't they look great perched on the side of a swimming pool? Well, maybe.

Lots of vintage trunks to be had at the flea market. This was a nice one--if you like pink. It was probably bright red in another life.

Flood damage at the Nashville Fairgrounds. A vendor who happens to be from Cookeville told us the Nolensville Road entrance to the fairgrounds was under twenty feet of water during the worst of the flooding which buckled the pavement, tore down fences, and made a huge mess.

We enjoyed our traditional dinner at Olive Garden in Mt. Juliet with daughter Kelly. Yum!

Homeward bound on I-40. We were blessed with such an unexpectedly beautiful day! Happy T.G.I.F., everyone! Have a great weekend!

Day One Hundred Forty Two

Neil and I went to the Nashville Flea Market today at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds. I always enjoy it and find interesting stuff. Never any fleas, though. I didn't buy anything today. And that's a first! I had fun taking pictures with my cell phone and here are just a few things that caught my eye. The weather was great. It never rained. And we ended our little out of town outing with our daughter Kelly at Olive Garden--an after-flea market tradition. Good times!

Very cool, very expensive Beatles poster.

These mannequins crack me up just piled up in the dirt.
She looks like she's saying, "How can you laugh at a time
like this!?" How humiliating. I'll bet they once wore stylish
clothes and adorned an expensive department store window.

Love the messages these garden stakes convey. So colorful.

I call this the rolling pin from hell! It looks like an implement
of torture. It probably cut biscuits or doughnuts. I'm always
attracted to rolling pins and own a few I rarely use.
