Day Ninety Six

Sidewalk Art, Elijah Man, And An Iris

It's Spring Break. Grand kids Elijah and Shelby were here today, and both of them were sick. Poor Shelby had a fever and some kind of stomach bug which put her down for the whole day. And Elijah had a bad sunburn on his shoulders and back that gradually slowed him down until he was wiped out right along side Shelby this afternoon. We did manage to get in some sidewalk chalk art this morning and that was fun.

This is my fancy sidewalk chalk art heart. We tracked it into the house on the soles of our shoes.

The Tennessee state flower is blooming in our yard--just this one. For now. Others are sure to follow in the next few days. It was such a beautiful day today. Wish the kids could have enjoyed it. Get well soon, guys!!

Day Ninety Five

The Daffodils finally wilted in the weekend heat. Hate to see them go, but I'm grateful for the colorful Tulips that are blooming in the back yard.

Day Ninety Four

Easter Fun

Grand kids Shelby and Elijah all decked out in their new Easter outfits.

Shelby and Elijah and daughter Kelly and son in law Jerry shoot Nerf missiles at each other.

Elijah and niece Julia hunt for those elusive hidden eggs. Some were harder to find than others. Just ask Julia whose prize egg refused to be found until her mom dug it out from under some thick plants. Hubby Neil found a prize egg from last year. Still had the five dollar bill inside.

Daughter Holly, niece Julia, daughter Kelly, niece Sarah, granddaughter Shelby, sister Jane (and Buddy Cat) enjoyed eating Holly's decorated hard boiled Easter eggs and all sorts of Easter candy treats.

Grandpa and Elijah peel and eat yummy hard boiled eggs.

Later this afternoon, Shelby practiced her roller skating up and down the street with support from her mom. Elijah and Kelly cheered her on. It was a beautiful day and I'm thankful I got to spend it with my loved ones. Happy Easter!
