Day Two Hundred Forty Four 2010

Good Pup Snoopy

My daughter Holly's family lost their beloved pet Snoopy today. He was a little dog with a big bark who loved to play fetch. He would bring you a ball or toy, wanting you to throw it so he could chase it and bring it back to you. Funny thing was he refused to let go of the toy. You had to just about yank his teeth out to get it away from him. But I guess that was really the game for him. He was a good buddy, a little pup dog who was such a big part of the Myers family. He most certainly will be missed.

Rest in peace, Snoop Dog.

Day Two Hundred Forty Three 2010

Grandson Elijah played his second T Ball game this afternoon. I'm doing something totally different today. Instead of pictures (see yesterday's post) I thought I'd post two videos of Elijah's game. One is him at bat and running the bases. The other is him fielding the ball and getting the out. I hope this works and you can see the videos. He only has four more games to play. This is just a sample of T Ball for three and four year olds.

Day Two Hundred Forty Two 2010

Elijah's First T-Ball Game

Grandson Elijah is playing T-Ball this year. His first game was this afternoon. And he's ready to play.

The slugger at bat.

Running to first base. All clear. The other team is busy chasing the ball.

Fielding between second and third base. Eye on the ball. Maybe.

Elijah has the ball and runs to third base.

Herding cats. Organized chaos. It's all in fun. They don't keep score. In this picture I think two or three players are laying on the ball.

Game over. Learning to be good sports.

Reward for a game well-played: a big ole chocolate chip cookie!

I think he had fun. I know I did. Another game tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Day Two Hundred Forty One 2010

Random Sunday

Granddaughter Shelby looks like the girl in Willy Wonka who ate the super blueberry candy. I was showing her my new lens and flash filters. She thought it was pretty cool.

Cream City Ice Cream Shop is always a nice treat any day of the week.

"I am Iron Man!"

The Iron Man robot belongs to grandson Elijah, but Grandpa Neil had tons of fun with it this afternoon, loading the missiles he fires from his shoulder armour (or some such).

Elijah works the robot with the remote control. Iron Man walks and talks and sometimes falls over backwards for no reason at all. I don't think he's supposed to do that, but it's funny when he does.

He's pretty scary when he's coming at you. This is Iron Man in the Solaris color setting.

He was shooting missiles at me while I took his picture. He is way cool. And yes he actually says I am Iron Man but it's just a regular guy voice--would have been cooler with the Black Sabbath version. Kids today have no clue as to just how fabulous their toys are.

Elijah in Solaris. Come to think of it, he had just as much fun playing with a yardstick this afternoon. It became a sword and he battled monsters. Imagination is everything. Always.

Day Two Hundred Forty 2010

Blast From The Past 2007

Grandson Elijah still wears his Pooh Bear hat and still hasn't figured out how to use the remote control. That last thing is probably just as well.
