Who says a trip to Wal-Mart can't be a beautiful experience? This cell phone camera picture just does not do this cool weather sunset justice. This is a preview of Autumn. Looking forward to it!

Day Two Hundred Twenty Six 2011
Had some spur of the moment fun with peeps at Poet's On The Square coffeehouse after lunch today. It may have been a coincidence, but for some reason the place cleared out after we came in and sat down and started making noise. Oh well. We can't help ourselves. Maybe there's something in those tasty frozen drinks that brings out the random silliness in all of us, which results in a whole lot of laughter and (loud) fun. We haven't been there in a long while, so I guess we were making up for lost time. Anyway, it was fun as always so let's do it again sometime. Soon.

Day Two Hundred Twenty Five 2011
The Dell computer fairy left us a present today....No, not really. Neil and I decided to take advantage of Tennessee's tax free holiday last weekend and replace our ancient desktop computer with a modern model. Our old one has been on its last leg the past year or so, slowly dying bit by bit (or maybe it's byte by byte). Our computer guy told us the last time he was tweaking it that it didn't have long to live, telling me I might want to put it on my Christmas list. We were going to put it off a while longer, but the tax holiday seemed like a good excuse to go ahead and buy a new one. Looking forward to getting this puppy fired up! (Might be awhile, though, as Neil has the living room torn up, working on the ceiling renovation....)

Day Two Hundred Twenty Four 2011
Neil and I took the Grandpeeps to Cream City Ice Cream Shop this afternoon for a tasty frozen treat. Delish! Elijah chooses his ice cream flavors by how colorful they are, and Shelby chooses hers by anything with the words chocolate, cookies and/or cake in it. The frog is in a back room at the ice cream shop and is inside this tiny glass cube along with his buddy. I felt kind of sorry for them all cooped up. A trip to get ice cream isn't complete until we've checked out the train cars at the depot. Shelby and Elijah love climbing all over and inside those things. The cars were hot and stuffy today, so we didn't hang out inside very long. Good times on a beautiful TGIF. Hope yours is happy, too!

Day Two Hundred Twenty Three 2011
I picked up Grandson Elijah this afternoon from school. He had a good day. Got to play outside twice. And he received a 100% sticker on his worksheet. He was very proud of that and should be.
'Kickin' down the cobblestones. Lookin' for fun and feelin' GROOVEE!' This line from that song pops into my head when I see this picture of him, following the same path to Granny's house that his sister followed just a few weeks ago.
