Day Seventy Three 2013
Grandpeeps Elijah and Shelby spent the day with Neil and me as their spring break winds down. Lunched at KFC. Elijah was playing with his Jell-o and flipped some on the wall. Shelby is making the universal ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ gesture. Elijah did eventually wipe it off the wall.
Landed at the DQ for frozen treats with more peeps. Daughter Holly, sister Jane, granddaughter Shelby, niece Julia, and niece Sarah having a laugh which I missed cause I was taking this picture.
And here’s one with Elijah in the mix ~ the only man in a sea of cooties. Or is that cuties?
After stuffing ourselves with chicken and ice cream, we spent some time in the sunshine. Neil pitched ball to Elijah who is signed up to play T Ball this spring.
Batter, batter, swing, batter! He can really pop them out of the park (or into the street).
I love this picture of Shelby. She doesn’t even know I took it as she walked away, going after the big ball she’d been kicking around the yard. She’s eleven and such a great kid who is quickly growing into her teenage years. Nope. Not gonna think about that right now. Sure did enjoy spending the day with my peeps. Always do.

Day Three Hundred Four 2012
Happy Birthday, Jane!
My baby sister Jane celebrated her 51st birthday today. How can that be?? Seems like yesterday she was toddling around in a diaper, a bottle in one hand, a pacifier in the other hand, and another one in her mouth. She’s a blessing to me in so many ways, not only as a sister but also as a friend. Wishing you a happy birthday, Jane! I love you!!

Day Three Hundred Three 2011
HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY, JANE!
My baby sister, Jane Foy, celebrated her 50th birthday today. Lots of family on hand to help her party, including a surprise visit from our 90 year old mom, who doesn’t get out much these days (thanks to sister Ann and her husband Terry for bringing her to the celebration and getting her back home again). That red velvet cake was oh so very yummy, and so was the homemade punch. All those ‘flat presents’ (a.k.a. moolah) also made turning 50 a little sweeter, I hope. Still can’t believe my sweet baby sister has reached the half century mark (ouch!) because she still doesn’t look a day over seventeen. Love and Hugs on your special day, Jane! I’m so blessed to have you in my life.

Day Two Hundred Sixty Eight 2011
POET’S
Enjoyed a yummy frozen hot chocolate with my peeps at Poet’s On The Square this afternoon. It’s always fun to get together here and chat and laugh and be silly (which means being our usual rowdy selves). A great way to spend some time on a gorgeous Autumn day. Peeps at Poet’s rock!

Day Two Hundred Twenty Six 2011
Had some spur of the moment fun with peeps at Poet's On The Square coffeehouse after lunch today. It may have been a coincidence, but for some reason the place cleared out after we came in and sat down and started making noise. Oh well. We can't help ourselves. Maybe there's something in those tasty frozen drinks that brings out the random silliness in all of us, which results in a whole lot of laughter and (loud) fun. We haven't been there in a long while, so I guess we were making up for lost time. Anyway, it was fun as always so let's do it again sometime. Soon.

Day Nine 2011
We always have big fun at Poet's On The Square right here in our town. Left to right: daughter Kelly, sister Jane, niece Julia, grand daughter Shelby, daughter Holly, and niece Sarah convened in the back room of Poet's for a couple of hours of sipping tasty treats--like frozen hot chocolate and mango orange smoothies (the best ever!)--while we generally misbehaved. We had the room to ourselves, so we didn't bother too many other coffee customers, and we left it the way we found it. Sort of. We did steal a few moments of fun. But don't tell anybody because this won't be the last time.

Day Three Hundred Three 2010
Happy 49th Birthday, Jane!
This is one of my favorite pictures of my sister back in the day on Halloween. Our brother and I tease her about not getting to trick or treat the year she was born (1961) because our dad took us to see her in the hospital that evening. But that's okay. We ended up with an even better treat. She's sweeter than any candy corn (and you know how much I love candy corn!). You are a blessing to me, little sis. Happy Birthday! So glad I got to celebrate with you today. I love you!!
My baby sister Jane celebrated her 49th birthday today. We all had a great time eating Don's awesome spaghetti, watching UT football (until they lost to South Carolina), enjoying yummy chocolate birthday cake (good one, Sarah!), ice cream and punch. Jane got lots of birthday cards filled with cool cash (that's always fun).

Sunday Postcards From Cream City
Niece Sarah, daughter Kelly, sister Jane and niece Julia (and moi) gathered at the Cream City Ice Cream Shop for a tasty frozen and/or icy treat this afternoon.
Sound advice from a sticker on a shop window in artsy West Side across from the train depot in my town.

Cloudy With A Chance Of ... Big Fun
Had all kinds of fun with some of my favorite peeps today. Thanks, nieces Sarah and Julia, for inviting me and Shelby and Elijah over to watch 'Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs'. I loved the movie and had a blast just hanging out with you. Just about overdosed on Skittles, but it was all good.

Wishing my sister Jane Foy and brother-in-law Don Foy a very happy 25th wedding anniversary today! This is the Silver anniversary for these two, and Don's got the silver hair to prove it! Jane, on the other hand, never ages, lucky lady. I love you both and wish you the best of everything today and throughout the years to come.

Day Two Hundred Five 2010
Goodbye ~ Hello
Ten hours later ... back to reality. Buddy Cat was happy to see us. A huge THANK YOU!!!! to my sister Jane Foy for coming by the house each day to check on Buddy. That was a load off my mind while we were away, and I know Buddy Cat was grateful for her company. And shame on that 'possum (probably more than one) for eating all of Buddy's food and bathing in his water dish. We had an awesome vacation. But it's great to be home again.
We said goodbye to Destin this morning and headed home.

Happy Mother's Day!
My sisters and brother and I think our mom is the best mom on the planet. Here she is surrounded by a few of her peeps: daughter Kay Ranft (me!), daughter Ann Sissom, grand daughter Sarah Foy, grand daughter Kelly Kimbrough, daughter Jane Foy, and grand daughter Julia Foy. Just want to say thanks for having us, Mom! We love you!! Happy Mother's Day to MOMS everywhere!
I am the proud mom of two awesome daughters, Holly Myers and Kelly Kimbrough, and the proud granny of two awesome grand children, Shelby and Elijah Myers. They are a blessing to me and make my world a better place to be every day. Thank you again for my beautiful cards and the cool presents. The best present was simply getting to spend time with you this weekend. I love you all!!

Day Forty Nine
The lunch bunch at our mom's place today--around the table from left: brother Ken, niece Sarah, MOM, sister Ann, niece Julia, and sister Jane. It's not that often that we all get to hang out together at the same time. But this day (snow day!) we got to pig on Krystal's and subs and peanut M&M's, and generally misbehave and make a lot of noise which turns out to be mostly laughter. Good for the psyche and the soul and maybe even the circulatory system, who knows. Hope we all get to do it again soon.
And a shout out to my son-in-law Jerry who turns 32 years old today. Happy Birthday, Jerry! Hope you get to go bass fishing soon. We love you!

Day Forty One
Picture Postcards From A Snow Day
Daughter Kelly, grand son Elijah and grand daughter Shelby amused themselves buying, selling and feeding the virtual fish in Fishville on Facebook.
This pretty red headed woodpecker enjoyed peanut butter for breakfast.
Birds in flight around the feeder. Kelly took this picture.
More birds in flight--thanks for the great shots, Kelly!
Grand daughter Shelby, sister Jane, grand son Elijah, niece Julia, niece Sarah and daughter Kelly and I enjoyed some time together at Poet's On The Square--a fun place to hang out, play Apples To Apples, talk and giggle, and slurp down some tasty coffee or smoothies (or in Elijah's case: Fruit Loops and a cup of milk--he amused himself with the Trivial Pursuit pie wagon game pieces).
The tiny snowman on a table outside Poet's sported rocks for buttons and eyes and a Coke bottle cap and he was really cute, but Elijah could not resist picking him up. Alas, the snowman fell over and lost his head and cap and a few of his rocks. We put him back together again. But I don't think he'll ever be the same. Good times. Great snow day.
Another snow day--cold and windy but pretty to watch the big flakes falling.

Day Three Hundred Sixty
Rockin' With The Beatles Rock Band
Kerry's on guitar, Sarah belts out a Beatles tune, and Julia pounds out the beat on the drums.
Kelly plays drums, with Kerry on guitar, and Sarah and Julia sing.
My sister Jane got in on the drumming action while Julia sang, and I think Kelly was on guitar.
Kerry, Sarah, Julia, and Jane jammin' with The Beatles. Neil and I just watched. Maybe we'll try it next time. We had fun just watching them play and listening to The Beatles tunes. 'Hey, Bulldog' turned out to be the tune they had the most fun with. They were all really good on each instrument and singing the songs and made high scores most of the time. It was a fun afternoon that turned into a fun evening. And thanks again for the delicious beef stew for supper! That was an unexpected treat. Good times, great oldies for sure!
I wish I had brought my camera with me to my sister Jane's house this afternoon. Jane, her daughters Sarah and Julia, my daughter Kelly and son in law Kerry played The Beatles Rock Band. I snapped some pictures with my cell phone. They're kind of grainy, but you get the idea.
