Day Two Hundred Seventy Six 2011
It’s Fall Break! Grandson Elijah and granddaughter Shelby were here today hanging out, along with daughter Kelly. Elijah drew this great picture of a haunted house with a couple of bats flying around it.
Granddaughter Shelby had Granny Smith apple slices for breakfast.
Seasonal artwork. Shelby plans to put her poster on her locker at school.
Daughter Kelly—working hard at her kitchen design job or playing Words With Friends on Facebook?
Kelly and Shelby got pedicures this morning before lunch. This is something that Shelby has been longing to do forever. She enjoyed the whole experience and said it made her day.
Happy Feet!
We enjoyed a yummy lunch at our favorite Thai food restaurant.
Our firewood was delivered just after lunch. Neil helped the wood guy unload his truck. Now we won’t freeze this winter.
Elijah wanted to swing on the vine that’s hanging from a tree just down the street. Flying through the air once seemed to be enough today.
We enjoyed the great outdoors this afternoon with a bit of pitch and bat. He smacked one right into my shin. I’m thankful it was not a real baseball.
Shelby, Kelly and Elijah posed for a group shot before Kelly had to head back home.
Elijah calls this being the “bacon” on the trampoline. Shelby bounces him while he lays there and bubbles up and down. I don’t know how else to explain this. It’s funny to watch, though.
Sidewalk leaf fossil.
Skully? We saw this weird thing laying in the yard and thought it looked like a skull. I have no idea what it was.
Chocolate Chunk and M&M cookies—hot and fresh out of the oven. With cold milk.
The afternoon came to a close with computer and video games. Fun day just filled with good stuff . Love spending time with my Peeps!

Day Two Hundred Seventy Five 2011
My sweet niece Julia turns 14 years old tomorrow (October 3), but we partied with her today at her house and enjoyed yummy cake and ice cream and punch. She enjoyed opening all her ‘flat presents’ (lots of cards with lots of money inside). And tomorrow she and her family are off to the beach for fall break. So blessed to have this lovely young lady in my life. Happy Birthday, Julia!! I love you!! You rock!!

Day Two Hundred Seventy Four 2011
Neil and I went for a walk around the neighborhood this afternoon. The first day of October was on the unseasonably chilly side, but the air smelled good and the clouds in that deep blue sky were nothing short of awesome. I took this picture with my cell phone camera of the sun trying to shine through those clouds. The lens flare made it look like an eye in the sky, complete with an eyebrow. I’ve always known there’s Someone up there watching over me.

Day Two Hundred Seventy Two 2011
Grandson Elijah’s T Ball team, the Braves, won 2nd place in their league championship game this evening. The whole team played hard this season, especially these last three games. And kudos to all the coaches. I’m sure at certain moments they felt like they were herding cats. Elijah is very proud of his trophy, and I am very proud of him for doing such a great job smacking those balls and fielding as short stop for his team. Good job, Braves!
