Unexpected intrusions of beauty. This is what life is. ~Saul Bellow
The rain was beautiful today because we need it and I forgot to water my potted plants yesterday.
"All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt."— Susan Sontag
Hubby Neil, daughter Kelly and I enjoyed lunch at the Chop House in Murfreesboro today. Such delicious food and great lunch time prices! While we devoured turkey and dressing, steamed broccoli and crisp sweet potato fries, Grandson Knox was enjoying his own meal of yummy sweet potatoes made for people who have no teeth yet. He loves food and likes to eat when everyone else is eating. He looks like a baby bird in this picture, waiting with his mouth open for his next yummy bite. Someday, kid, you'll get your own plate. In the meantime, he also likes to chew on the menu.
