It was a beautiful afternoon. Grandson Knox braved the mosquitoes and spent some time jumping on the trampoline, blowing a few bubbles, and fishing in the watering can to see what he could catch [a very soggy leaf] ~ all of it fun. Except for the ‘skeeter  bites. [Hope your Monday did not bite]

Day One Hundred Ninety Five 2013

Grandson Knox standing in the glow from a sundrenched stained glass window after worship service this morning. All the pretty colors got bleached out by the sunlight. The little kids love to play in these windows.

My niece Evan married her long-time sweetheart Shaun this afternoon. They had a beautiful and simply sweet outdoor ceremony under blue sky and puffy white clouds with family and friends cheering them on. They’ve loved each other for a long time. They’re a good match. Wishing them a happily ever after.

My sweet niece Sarah celebrated her 18th birthday this evening with family and friends and a yummy chocolate cake. [Her official birth date is tomorrow] These past 18 years have rushed by, crazy fast. I’ve watched her grow up into this unique, smart, talented, gorgeous, funny and fun to be with young woman who is one of my favorite people on the planet. But then she’s always been all those things. Her future is shiny bright. Can’t wait to see where she goes and how she gets there. Wishing you all the best of everything life has to offer, Sarah. Love you to pieces.

Day One Hundred Ninety Two 2013

0711031114
This has been my week for doc appointments and needle sticks. Stick a needle fork in me, I am done. Today’s doc visit was a general one which they term a ‘wellness visit’. Not only did I get this fun blood work done [my big fat veins are an easy stick and nurse Pat is awesome at this], but I also got two inoculations. Two! A pneumonia shot [another joy of growing older] and a whooping cough shot [which is probably more to protect the little peeps in my life than it is to protect me]. All this on top of my shot in the knee yesterday, and I should be spouting water out all the needle holes in my body [SpongeBob comes to mind for some reason]. Let’s give God the glory for modern medicine, as invasive and uncomfortable as it can be sometimes. I think my next stop will be for a hearing test. [Huh?] I see hearing aids in my near future. [What?]
