Daughter Holly has always been proud of the fact that she is the only member of our family who doesn't have to wear glasses. She always shunned our yearly eye exams, because she could see quite well, thanks, but no thanks. And eating carrots? Pfft! Who needs stinkin carrots when you enjoy perfect vision?? But, alas, the 30 year track record has abruptly come to an end. Her eyes have been aching for a while. Her job requires a lot of computer time. She realized she just couldn't see as well as she used to. It was a good run, but sometimes you just can't outrun the need for corrective lenses. Here she is wearing her stylish new glasses and amazed by how much better she can see now, not realizing just how much she needed them. Her sister Kelly is quick to point out that Holly should have eaten her carrots.

I love your new glasses, Holly! They're very hip and you look great in them! You don't realize how much you really need glasses until you get them. I was the last member of our family to get glasses too :-)
When you hit 30, it's all downhill from there! :-)
Nice specs!!! Good choice!!! 20 years from now, you can look back on this picture and say "nice glasses"... wish I could say the same for my HUGE pair from the early 90's. Gees! Holly, you look good in glasses! :o)
Kelly, I really liked your HUGE glasses... no, really, I do. Kay Ranft, your you have charming voice in your writing. That was Sarah going Writer Intelligent on you.
