Day Seventy Three 2013
Grandpeeps Elijah and Shelby spent the day with Neil and me as their spring break winds down. Lunched at KFC. Elijah was playing with his Jell-o and flipped some on the wall. Shelby is making the universal ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ gesture. Elijah did eventually wipe it off the wall.
Landed at the DQ for frozen treats with more peeps. Daughter Holly, sister Jane, granddaughter Shelby, niece Julia, and niece Sarah having a laugh which I missed cause I was taking this picture.
And here’s one with Elijah in the mix ~ the only man in a sea of cooties. Or is that cuties?
After stuffing ourselves with chicken and ice cream, we spent some time in the sunshine. Neil pitched ball to Elijah who is signed up to play T Ball this spring.
Batter, batter, swing, batter! He can really pop them out of the park (or into the street).
I love this picture of Shelby. She doesn’t even know I took it as she walked away, going after the big ball she’d been kicking around the yard. She’s eleven and such a great kid who is quickly growing into her teenage years. Nope. Not gonna think about that right now. Sure did enjoy spending the day with my peeps. Always do.

Day Sixty Five 2013
I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.
~Mae West
I think we’ve had more snow days in March than we’ve had the entire winter. [this makes me think of the first moon landing for some reason ~ one small step]
Lunch at Ocha today with daughter Holly, grandson Knox, daughter Kelly and hubby Neil.
Knox and his mom went back home today after spending the last several days with us. Miss you guys!

Day One Hundred Fifty 2012
Enjoyed one last lunch with my peeps before everyone packed up and headed for home after the Memorial Day weekend. Ocha Thai food deli is so totally yummy!
I suggested doughnuts from Ralph’s, but the grandpeeps wanted ice cream from Cream City. Grandson Elijah’s fave flavor is called Superman, which is actually rainbow colored vanilla ice cream. He also tried a scoop of cookie dough. I love his Superman-blue mustache.
Grandson Knox didn’t get any ice cream, but I don’t think he cared too much. He was ready for a nap.
Grand daughter Shelby and daughter Kelly: self-portrait taken by Kelly. I had a great time with my family this past weekend. The house is way too quiet right now. How it all flies by!

Day Four 2012
First day back in school today after Christmas break and an unexpected 'snow day' yesterday. The grandpeeps had a good day and were glad to see their friends. Wish I could get back into the groove that easily.

Day Three Hundred Twelve 2011
You never know when the city leaf sucker is going to come along and make this big pile of leaves disappear, so it’s best to go ahead and jump in while the jumping is here and now. Carpe diem! Seize the leaf pile! Grandson Elijah did just that….while mom Holly and sister Shelby wait patiently for him to get it out of his system so they can all go home.

Day Three Hundred Six 2011
Hubby Neil has been working, off and on over the past several months, installing old-fashioned tin (actually aluminum) ceiling tiles in our living room. Today he placed the final tile. I told him he should sign it, so he did—our names, the date, and a smiley face for good measure.
The last one goes in place. Hooray! Now he has to install the cornice all the way around. Stay tuned.
This afternoon, grandson Elijah wanted to jump in the leaves. So Grandpa handed him a rake, and Elijah got to work, raking a pile of leaves to jump in.
His mom got in on the action, too, to make the work go faster.
Elijah takes a leap! All that hard work paid off in big time fun.
Grand daughter Shelby jumps in with a hot pink flourish. Jumping in a pile of November leaves is a rite of passage for any child who is blessed to have a pile of leaves. Today couldn’t have been a more perfect day for it.

Day Two Hundred Two 2011
Thursday at the beach. We were a bit scattered today. Hubby Neil, daughter Kelly and I hit the beach to enjoy yet another beautiful day of sand and sea. Son in law Jerry and grandson Elijah splashed in the pool and played video games. Son in law Kerry, daughter Holly and grand daughter Shelby went para sailing--definitely the most exciting past time of the day. Kerry has done this before, but it was a first for Holly and Shelby. The guy on the boat who hooked them into the sail took these pictures and then gave them the pictures on an SD card. That second picture is right at the moment they lifted off and you can see it on Shelby's face. Holly says her favorite picture is the last one, when they dunked them in the Gulf. Great shots! They had a blast. Shelby wanted to do it all over again when they got back on the boat. Para sailing will most definitely be on the to-do list for our trip next year. Tomorrow is our last day in Destin before we hit the road home on Saturday. We're not ready to leave!

Day Twenty One 2011
Another 'snow day' here today. The Grandpeeps are on the mend from whatever has been ailing them this week and feeling lots better now, so we enjoyed a lunch at Ocha Thai food deli, where the rice and spicy chicken are quite yummy. Here is the lunch bunch: grandson Elijah, hubby Neil, grand daughter Shelby, and daughter Holly. Happy TGIF!
