A bright spot on a bleak November day

"All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt."— Susan Sontag

What a pretty little leaf!! I saw a tree somewhere in town this morn that was covered in yellow leaves when all the others around were bare.
Very pretty! Yesterday and today were about as dreary as it can get :( It's little things like that that can put a smile on your face :)
Our neighbor's tree is a yellow maple that, until today, still had most of its leaves. That wind was pretty fierce, so now that tree is totally bare. Our yard is filled with all the leaves from the yard across the street. I'm just glad the leaf collectors came when they did and sucked up all those leaves Neil raked up last Friday!
