"Nature is, above all, profligate. Don't believe them when they tell you how economical and thrifty nature is, whose leaves return to the soil. Wouldn't it be cheaper to leave them on the trees in the first place?"
~~Annie Dillard
"All photographs are memento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person’s (or thing’s) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time’s relentless melt."— Susan Sontag

Funny quote! Personally, I'm glad we get new leaves every year! :-)
Yeah, I'm glad, too. It wouldn't be Fall without the leaves falling off the trees ;) I can't imagine living someplace where there is no change of seasons. Fall is my favorite--leaves and all! I thought the quote was funny, too.
Fall would be pretty boring if the leaves stayed on the trees :) If they did, at least we wouldn't have to rake them up and or chop them up with the lawn mower. That's what I do. Love your cloud pic :)
