Day One Hundred Sixty Five 2010

Flag Day

Since today is Flag Day, I thought I'd share a picture of my U.S. flag. This was taken a year ago. This flag is now hanging in the back yard for the time being until we can finish our front yard landscaping. Three cheers for the red, white and blue! I love those stars and stripes.

Day One Hundred Fifty One

Memorial Day Snapshots

Remembering all the American soldiers who died in my place so I can be free to enjoy another day in the life of the greatest country on the planet. And to all the men and women who are serving right now in the United States military all over the world--THANK YOU!

Day One Hundred Sixty Five

My front porch flag--long may she wave over my house
every day.

June 14 is Flag Day in the United States. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.
