Day Two Hundred Ninety Eight 2013
This was the best day EVER for granddaughter Shelby. After nine years of wearing glasses, she got contact lenses today. I know you can’t see them in this picture. But you can see how ecstatic she was to finally be rid of her glasses. She’s a gorgeous young lady, with or without the glasses, but now everyone can see just how beautiful those blue eyes really are. Congratulations, Shelby! I’m so happy for you!!

Day One Hundred Sixty One 2013
The Better To See You …
Time for the annual eye and vision checkup. Neil and I have a most excellent eye doctor. The older my eyes get, the more I appreciate him, and the more I’m thankful for insurance that pays for these exams and glasses/lenses. This is our year to get new frames if we want them. Since my prescription hasn’t changed much since last year, I’m sticking with my current frames, but I did opt to get some prescription sunglasses, which I think I’m going to enjoy. [The lenses are polarized, which makes an amazing difference in blocking out glare~I’m so excited to get these]. Neil had to have new frames since his rimless were beat to death. Over all, our old eyeballs are in pretty good shape~certainly a blessing and something precious to be thankful for.

Day Sixty Six 2013
Busted!
Spring Break lunch today at my brother Ken’s new digs with sisters, nieces, nephews and hubby. Ken moved back to town recently, which means we get to spend more time together. He has decorated his home with several of his son Ian’s sculptures, including this bust Ian fashioned after his dad. The resemblance is spot on, don’t you think? (minus the mustache of course)
Here’s another take with the bust stylin in niece Sarah’s hat and sister Jane’s glasses. Can you say Facebook profile picture?
