Comfort food for hubby Neil and me on a cold January night. Thanks to my sister Jane for the veggie beef stew recipe. It was totally delicious! And much better than peanut butter.

Day Three Hundred Forty One 2011

1207011146IMG_2884IMG_2889
Here today. Gone today. Big huge fat flakes of wet snow came down hard at lunch time today, coating windshields and grass, which sent a panic through the county school system. Kids went home at one o’clock. The snow was gone about a half hour later. Best to err on the side of caution, of course. It was beautiful while it lasted.

Day Eighty One

Spring--Day Three

We all could do without this again, but here it is--Spring snow. For a while there after lunch today, it looked like a blizzard.

Ah, the mood swings of Spring!

Eddie says, "Not again!" He came up under the back porch to watch the snow.

Squirrel says, "Who cares about snow? I've got food!" The snow did eventually stop and the clouds parted to show us some patchy blue sky. Spring is like that around here--kinda moody. Looking forward to some warmth tomorrow.

Day Fifty Six

Squirrel-1
Cat-0

Eddie chased a squirrel up a tree yesterday, but the squirrel leaped off the tree onto the roof of the wood shed and made his way back to the bird feeder where he pigged out on sunflower seeds while Eddie watched, stuck in the tree. It took several minutes, but Eddie finally figured out how to get down out of the tree without killing himself, but by then the squirrel was long gone. Sometimes you get the squirrel and sometimes the squirrel gets you.

Day Four

It Was Only A Matter Of Time

A squirrel found the bird feeder and the Sunflower seeds this morning. I'm surprised it took him this long. I chased him off and refilled the feeder. I'm sure he'll be back--with all his hungry buddies.
