Day Two Hundred Fifty Three 2011
During half time in the Tennessee/Cincinnati game, I wandered around the house, shooting some pictures using my little macro lens--just random stuff because it's fun, although the bees on the flowers weren't too happy with my camera an inch from their flying crawling bodies. And I didn't even know that spider was there until he suddenly popped into focus (I was trying to take a picture of the colorful leaf behind him). The top picture is one of the blooms on my pumpkin vine, so maybe I'll have a pumpkin or two before too long. Can you guess what the bottom two pictures are? OK I'll tell you--marbles in an old jar. It was a beautiful Saturday, much too nice to be cooped up indoors watching football, but the game was pretty exciting and I'm happy to say that Tennessee won (45-23). Not too shabby. Now that's good stuff.

Day Two Hundred Fifty Two 2011
Grandson Elijah has looked forward to running in the Cougar Run ever since he was old enough to watch his big sister run this time every September. It is his school's only fundraiser for the year. The kids collect pledges for each lap run or contributions for a lump sum. I don't know how many laps he ran, but I do know that he ran most of the time. He was pretty worn out by that last lap and was more than ready for that cup of cold water. Way to run, little Cougar! You did a great job. I'm so proud of you!

Day Two Hundred Fifty One 2011
Today was Hat Day and Crazy Hair Day at grandson Elijah's school. Since there wasn't much he could do with his hair to make it crazy, he wore a hat. All day. He even wore it when he got to my house.
Also displaying her school spirit, grand daughter Shelby wore a school T shirt and watched a volleyball game today as she continues to enjoy all the fun activities during homecoming week. Tomorrow night is the big dance. Hope it's everything she imagines it will be.

Day Two Hundred Fifty 2011
Middle Of The Week Randomness….
Lots of soggy leaves on my deck right now. This one is outlined in water. I like this effect and it’s not even an effect.
While I was out in the cold and damp day, taking some pictures, our neighbor’s cat followed me around, making a general nuisance of herself. She’s apparently starved for attention. She’s a dark mustard yellow and is really washed out in the picture. Sweet kitty. I kept saying Go home!
Two of my favorite things: Peanut Butter M&M’s and a vintage Mason jar. It will be empty soon.
Another one of my favorite things: grand daughter Shelby striking a pose, showing off her outfit she wore for Cowboy Day at her school. It is homecoming week, and she is just about maxxed out with excitement.
And another one of my favorite things: grandson Elijah who is also striking a pose, showing off the outfit he wore for Tacky Day at his school. He is looking forward to Friday when he can participate in his first Cougar Run—his school’s only fundraiser for the year. Can’t wait to watch him. Happy Middle of the Week, everyone!
