Day Eighty Four 2012

0324021254Hubby Neil and I hit the Nashville Flea Market today. We don’t normally go on a Saturday because it’s so crowded. That was the case today for sure. Plus, we got rained on the whole time, and that’s unusual. This big ole welded steer didn’t seem to mind the wet.
0324021255The vendors had to keep their goodies covered. This poor mismatched lady hid under a tarp. Can’t say that I blame her.
0324021257March and April are the best months to buy plants at this flea market. Lots to choose from today.
0324021257aDriftwood. Part of the let’s-get-wet theme today.
0324021258aWater skis for sale alongside old shutters and old-looking new buckets (or baskets).
0324021259Today was most definitely mermaid day at the flea market. They were everywhere.
0324021306Sad clowns aren’t as scary as smiley clowns. In my opinion.
0324021306bVery cool Groucho Marx doll. May have been a puppet or marionette.
0324021307aOne vendor had some really nice Civil War memorabilia. Confederate, of course.
0324021308a
I liked this bust. Would be cool to place it somewhere in a garden and scare somebody half to death.
0324021308bThis sign went perfectly with the wet theme.  It was, indeed, Waterville today. Makes me want to head to the beach.
0324021309
I was so tempted to buy this old Japanese tea set because I’ve collected a few pieces over the years. I tell myself  I don’t need it and have no where to put it and that usually does the trick. I walked away.
0324021312These sweet bears were loved to death. Makes me want to cry.
0324021312a
Beautiful wedding ring quilt. I want it! No. Walk away!
0324021317Did I tell you it was mermaid day at the flea market? Everywhere.
0324021319See….
0324021321
I may print this out and hang it on my fridge just to remind me that this is what I’m going to look like if I don’t start exercising again soon.
0324021330
So many weird little things here.
0324021330a
It’s a law that there has to be deer heads for sale at the flea market.
0324021333b
Speaking of heads, this poor lady has lost hers. And her legs.
0324021333
No wait here it is……
0324021336
This guy is having a really bad day.
0324021337
Gratuitous self portrait—I’m split in two!
0324021337a
Could be useful….
0324021338
Crocks. Love ‘em! Wanted all these. Even one was too pricey.
0324021345
Stuffed Badger. Why?
0324021347a
This vendor had all sort of fresh herbs for sale. She had such a pretty booth, full of plants.
0324021349
Another mermaid….
0324021350
Very scary fireplace andirons. Nightmare stuff.
0324021351
Oh the mermaids…This one was carved from wood.
0324021351a
Pretty cowgirl boots and a lacy umbrella. For some reason, this reminds me of Stevie Nicks…..
0324021354
Quite a selection of movies, with two of my favorite things—vampires and zombies.
0324021354a
Cupie dolls=Happy Faces!
0324021358
The saddest little cherub I ever did see. Sweet.
0324021407
I wanted these beautiful vintage boots!!
0324021417
Won’t see this again, all you ciggie smokers out there. Kind of like gas prices….
0324021418
Soaked!
0324021456
Just as we were leaving the flea market, blue sky finally breaks through.
0324021513a
I-24 on the way to daughter Kelly’s house—like driving in soggy fog. All in all, a great day to be a mermaid.

Of course, the best part of our little day trip is seeing daughter Kelly, son in law Kerry, and the star of the show, grandson Knox. He just woke up from his (brief) nap and is still in his straight jacket, I mean, swaddle. He sleeps better wrapped up in this thing, believe it or not.

Freedom! Big stretch.
IMG_0278
Big smile for Granny and Grandpa.

Look at that face! What’s not to love. He’s a sweetie. We had a great visit. Thanks again, Kelly, for the delicious crock pot roast and veggies! That was a treat. Love you guys!
