Day Three Hundred Nineteen

Mathilda/Orchid And The Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah-Dette ...

a.k.a. Sarah Foy and Julia Foy, my awesomely talented nieces who are performing in Cookeville Children's Theatre production of "Disney's Alice In Wonderland (Jr.)" this week and next. Saw it today, and it's now my favorite CCT play. Everything about it was fun and enjoyable. Even though the play was full of laughs, I always get teary eyed when I watch these two perform on stage, because they always impress the socks off me with their talent. But mostly because I love them both to pieces.

Day Three Hundred Eighteen

New Kid In The Hangar

Neil and son in law Jerry went to a RC Airplane swap meet in Nashville today. This is the newest addition to Neil's "fleet" as he likes to call it.

Yes, it does have wings. Aren't they pretty? The plane was totally finished. All it needs is a motor. It's never been flown.

Jerry excels at making good deals and helped Neil get a good price for this plane. I think it has a six foot wing span. It's the biggest one he has. So far. It's the same length as our love seat. I know this because the plane is now sitting behind it.

Day Three Hundred Sixteen

Happy Birthday, Kelly!

Kelly Teresa Ranft Kimbrough was born on the snowy night of November 12, 1976, about half past midnight. Here she is with husband Kerry this afternoon at the Dolce Cafe on the square in Cookeville, enjoying her fave coffee (Dolce Caramel Latte).

Here she is at about a month old. God blessed us with Kelly 33 years ago (so hard to believe!how time flies!). She's loving, caring, and thoughtful, and the best friend anyone could have. She's always fun and always makes me laugh. The world would be a boring place without her in it. Loving you always, daughter, and wishing you all good things and fun times today and always.

Day Three Hundred Fifteen

Celebrate!

Daughter Kelly doesn't turn 33 until tomorrow, but we partied a day early. We ate supper at El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant this evening, and her dad let our server know it was her birthday (well, almost). So toward the end of the meal, they set the ceremonial sombrero on her head and sang their happy birthday song, in Spanish, of course. She should have seen it coming, but "Conchita" was taken totally by surprise. (Cell phone camera picture--always grainy in a dark setting)

Thirteen family members gathered around the table in our little dining room and sang the birthday song to the birthday lady. We enjoyed the best cake made by daughter Holly's friend, Tammy. After Kelly opened her presents, we somehow got into a paper wad war. (Sister Ann and grandson Elijah were the instigators) That was great fun. All our family birthday parties are fun. Happy (early) 33rd Birthday, Kelly!! Will post more tomorrow ...
