Day Thirteen 2013

0113031838
Fresh out of the Pizza Hut oven, a hot gooey personal pan supreme hit the spot for supper—comfort food on a rain-drenched evening. A huge storm blew through our town, lots of rain and wind and lightning and thunder and flooding and tree limbs everywhere. When Neil and I got to Pizza Hut, the outside temperature was 64 degrees. When we left, it was 60, and on our way home, less than two miles away, we watched the temperature drop to 46 degrees on the truck thermometer. So the forecasted cold front blew into town after the storm. Monday is going to feel like winter again.

Day Sixty Two 2012

Random TGIF pictures on a day filled with bouts of sunshine and tornadoes in middle Tennessee. The kids got out of school at noon today ahead of the powerful storms that moved from the Gulf Coast up through Indiana. Lots of damage and loss of life in some places. We were spared at my house from anything extreme. Still thundering and raining here tonight at 7:30. I'll be relieved when the storms are gone and looking forward to a calm Saturday.

Day One Hundred Seventy 2011

Daddy Neil and Daughter Kelly~Happy Father's Day!

The Beetles. They were all over this hosta earlier in the evening and then we noticed them all clustered on this one leaf right before this huge storm blew through town. Wonder if they knew it was coming?

A mighty storm blew through here this evening with fierce straight line winds that blew this rather large limb out of our silver maple and onto a deck chair. The wind was scary!

We were pelted with hail in all shapes and sizes. Thankfully, nothing fell on the cars and house and the storm came and went pretty quickly. This has been one crazy wild spring!

Day Two Hundred Ninety Eight 2010

It's Under There Somewhere

The sky tried hard to be blue today but never quite made it. Storms swept through here last night, but apparently I slept through it all, which is good. I'd much rather be asleep than laying awake, wondering if a tree is going to fall on the house. A limb did hit the car, barely missing the windshield, and put a dent in the roof. We need the rain, but I can live without the bluster.
