Day Two Hundred Twenty Six 2013

0814031213
Whenever we have the opportunity, Neil and I enjoy lunch in Dogwood Park these summer days, weather permitting. Today’s weather was perfection. With a 68 degree temperature, a cool breeze blowing and blue sky overhead at noon, it felt like fall. We ate our meal in the gazebo which is surrounded by a variety of beautiful rose bushes in full bloom. This was our dessert ~ fresh juicy red strawberries and of course some Cool Whip for dipping. Yum! Hope your day was delicious!

Day One Hundred Seventy Eight 2013

Fresh and Frozen - Vintage Fruit
old fruit
Feeling patriotic today. Or maybe fruity. I’m not sure what inspired me to arrange fresh strawberries and frozen blueberries on this plate I bought at the Nashville Flea Market last Friday. The vintage feel of the plate seemed to call for a vintage photo look, so I ran the photo through filters and frames on http://pixlr.com/o-matic/ and here you go. More fun than a human being should be allowed to have in the span of fifteen minutes.  Happy Thursday, everyone! Hope yours was inspired.

Day Ninety Four 2013

Strawberries on steroids. Neil bought a box of strawberries last night at Wal-Mart for grandson Knox, who loves them. We’ve never seen ones so large, have you? Makes you wonder what they’re feeding these things. Bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better, though, because the giant ones aren’t as sweet as the smaller ones. I guess we’ll just have to dip them in chocolate. And whipped cream.

Day One Hundred Eighty Seven 2012

My Mae Pearl’s vanilla bean frozen yogurt would have been patriotic if only I had chosen blueberries instead of blackberries. In the end, the flavors are what mattered. It was totally delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day.

Day One Hundred Forty Three 2012

Randomness

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.
~Buddha

(and, every once in a while, enjoy some randomness)
