Day Two Hundred Thirty Five 2010
They Eat Bugs, Don't They?
These spiders have set up housekeeping in the bushes beside my daughter Holly's front door. I think they are called garden spiders. They are probably three inches long. There are at least five of them camping out in her bushes on one side of the porch, and they weave the most interesting webs. When I leaned in to snap their pictures, I figured one of them would suddenly leap at me and latch onto my face. Just being near them made the hair stand up on my arms and the back of my neck. Holly isn't going to attempt to shoo them away. After all, they do eat bugs. Which goes to show you God made everything for a reason. Sweet dreams, y'all!

Day Two Hundred Thirty Four 2010
Sunday Postcards From Cream City
Niece Sarah, daughter Kelly, sister Jane and niece Julia (and moi) gathered at the Cream City Ice Cream Shop for a tasty frozen and/or icy treat this afternoon.
Sound advice from a sticker on a shop window in artsy West Side across from the train depot in my town.

Day Two Hundred Thirty Three 2010
Party! Elijah Celebrates His 4TH Birthday
Elijah and his cousin Matthew splash in the pool at the bottom of the slide. Too cool!
I love this look on his face when his daddy started lighting his candles. Priceless.
He waited patiently to blow out his four candles while we serenaded him with the birthday song.
Big smiles from the birthday boy and his sister Shelby.
Grandson Elijah turned 4 years old on Tuesday, August 17. Today he celebrated with a party at his house with lots of family to cheer him on.
The giant water slide is always a big hit at his Summer time birthday parties.

Day Two Hundred Thirty Two 2010
I Heart Friday!
I was craving something chocolate and the only thing in the kitchen was a bottle of chocolate milk. It was cold and pretty tasty and kind of...thick. Then, glutton for punishment that I am, I ate a couple of Gummi Worms. After a sudden "sick" moment later, I checked the expiration date on the chocolate milk. It died two weeks ago. Ack!
Pushing those glasses up on her nose again. She gets new ones soon. She says they're 'awesome'.
Daughter Kelly came in time for supper. Her fave spot is Ocha Deli beside TTU. Hey, look, it's open! Yum!
Afternoon shadows stretched along West Side where we headed to Cream City (more gluttony!).
West Side around the depot has developed into a cool place over the past few years. Lots of artsy shops and restaurants.
I love the name of this shop that sells tie dyed clothing and bags and such. I'm going to have to browse in here sometime.
All sorts of tasty frozen treats to be had at Cream City.
Grand daughter Shelby snacking on a Gummi Worm after school today. She struggled to my house with her loaded backpack (on the couch). Said her shoulders hurt. We put the backpack on the scales. It weighed 11 pounds. That's crazy.
