Day Thirty Six 2011

Hubby Neil was in destroy mode today as round two of our ceiling renovation began. After uncovering some nice vintage bead board in one half of the room a couple of weeks ago, we were hoping to find the same on the other side of the room. No such luck. It was very disappointing but not too surprising to find the other half of the ceiling covered in plywood. There are two separate ceilings because our big old living room used to be two separate rooms way back when. So much for sanding and painting. I guess that would have been too simple. So on to Plan B, which is...we're not sure. Neil is tilting toward Sheetrock. Stay tuned. But don't hold your breath.

Day Thirty Five 2011

The Dolce caramel latte--looks good enough to drink, doesn't it? It was! Daughter Kelly treated me to one of these pretty lattes at the Dolce Cafe coffeehouse on the square here in our little town this afternoon before she and her hubby Kerry headed back home. A hot tasty treat on a cold and gray winter's TGIF.

Day Thirty Four 2011

Happy 58th Birthday to me! Thanks to all my loving peeps who celebrated my birthday with me today. They all made me feel so loved and special on my day of days. Thanks for all the cards and gifts and laughter. It all just totally made my day rock! And made growing a little older so worth it!

Day Thirty Three 2011

In honor of Groundhog Day, Neil and I amused ourselves during lunch at Arby's today by making hand shadows on the table whenever the sun would peak through the clouds. The most famous prognosticator groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, did not see his shadow in 2011. It is predicted that spring is on its way. We can only hope that spring will arrive sooner than later this year. I think my hand shadow looks like a bunny. No? Whatever.

Day Thirty Two 2011

It's just me, standing in the rain and wind, waiting for grand daughter Shelby to walk home from school this afternoon. A gratuitous self-portrait. I'm sure anyone passing by me who happened to notice me taking a picture of myself probably thought I was weird or something. What can I say? They would be right.
