New Year's Eve Party In The 'Boro
The Ranft, Foy, Myers, and Kimbrough Families converged in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, tonight to party out the old year and party in the new year. We enjoyed great pizza in the Magic Bus at the Mellow Mushroom. At the Kimbrough's, they jammed to Beatles Rock Band and Country Tracks Rock Band and played Mario Karts. We've enjoyed a fun time together. What a great way to send out 2009 and welcome in 2010!

Day Three Hundred Sixty Two
I'd Like To Thank The Little People....
Grand son Elijah loves to play with the Fisher Price Little People and especially these vehicles--the tractor and wagon that came with the farm, and a couple of others that came with the airport. Behind him is one of the blond lady Little People that represents his mom. She usually drives the tractor. His sister Shelby used to do the same thing when she played with these toys, which, by the way, are vintage. They were brand new to my daughters in the late 1970s. The appeal of these toys never fades, it seems, even when he's got battery operated cars and trucks to play with. That is just too cool.

Day Three Hundred Sixty One
There's Always A Stray. Or Two.
I was sure I had Christmas all tucked away in the attic today. But it just never fails. No matter how many times I scour the house to make sure I got them all, I always find a stray decoration. Or two, in this case. They were under the couch where Eddie Kitty had most likely chased them. That's it, that's all of them. I'm sure of it....

Day Three Hundred Sixty
Rockin' With The Beatles Rock Band
Kerry's on guitar, Sarah belts out a Beatles tune, and Julia pounds out the beat on the drums.
Kelly plays drums, with Kerry on guitar, and Sarah and Julia sing.
My sister Jane got in on the drumming action while Julia sang, and I think Kelly was on guitar.
Kerry, Sarah, Julia, and Jane jammin' with The Beatles. Neil and I just watched. Maybe we'll try it next time. We had fun just watching them play and listening to The Beatles tunes. 'Hey, Bulldog' turned out to be the tune they had the most fun with. They were all really good on each instrument and singing the songs and made high scores most of the time. It was a fun afternoon that turned into a fun evening. And thanks again for the delicious beef stew for supper! That was an unexpected treat. Good times, great oldies for sure!
I wish I had brought my camera with me to my sister Jane's house this afternoon. Jane, her daughters Sarah and Julia, my daughter Kelly and son in law Kerry played The Beatles Rock Band. I snapped some pictures with my cell phone. They're kind of grainy, but you get the idea.

Day Three Hundred Fifty Nine
Merry Christmas!
Here's our Mom surrounded by her kids, grand kids, and great grand kids at our annual family Christmas at sister Ann and brother in law Terry Sissom's home. We enjoyed a delicious turkey and ham dinner with loads of tasty casseroles and yummy desserts. The kids opened their gifts and the adults played a fierce game of Dirty Santa. The Beatles Trivial Pursuit was the hot sought after gift, exchanging hands countless times. We ended the evening playing that game which was fun but a lot harder than we thought it would be. Ann and Terry always make everything festive and just right and we always have a great time celebrating our family Christmas there. Thanks again, Ann and Terry, for hosting another great get together! We are all so thankful to be so richly blessed not only with things but with family. We look forward to doing it all over again next year. Missing those who couldn't be with us! Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Dad and Rob! I love you all, and to all a good night!

Day Three Hundred Fifty Two
Let's Get Random
Where's the rest of this deer? I think he must have joined the Syrian army--with bells on.
Clown face in a box. Has to be a refuge from a Stephen King novel. The flea market is never boring.
Vintage Chanel No. 5. No telling how old this Eau de Cologne is. No price tag on it, but I'm sure it's a bargain.
Experimenting with f-stop settings on my new camera. As you can see, I have no idea what I'm doing. Pretty cool all the same. Either that, or the tree is on fire.
Our two cats were cooped up inside the house while we were gone. I'm sure Buddy snoozed upstairs all day. Eddie, on the other hand, amused himself with knocking Christmas ornaments off the tree and playing with this Santa hat. He's been all over this thing, pouncing on it and dragging it around the room. Crazy kitty.
Saw these cool vintage boots while browsing at the Nashville Flea Market today. I'd love to have them, but they were too narrow for my big feet. Maybe they were Cinderella's boots.
