Flora Friday
"Give me the joys of summer,
Of Summer Queen so fair,
With wealth of lovely flowers
And fruits and sun-kissed air!
Talk not to me of winter
With ice and frost and snow,
Nor changing spring and autumn
When howling winds will blow.
No, I will take the joys
Of Summer every time,
So to this Queen of Seasons
I dedicate my rhyme."
~Winifred Sackville Stoner, Midsummer Joys
My Geraniums are finally blooming, and that's one of my joys of Summer. Happy TGIF, everyone!

Day One Hundred Twenty Eight 2013
Peonies are budding in my back yard.
Neighbor kitty Lily followed me around while I snapped some pics. She’s always on the go~a constant blur.
I wish we had more of these dark purple Irises. I really like that yellow stripe.
Peony bud looks like a swirly little planet. The flowers smell so good.
I have no idea what these are but I like them. They grow on a vine.
Azaleas are one of my faves, too. God sure knew what He was doing when He made flowers, didn’t He?

Day Two Hundred Thirty Six 2012
A little eye candy to brighten my walk this morning. Been up and down this road lots of times but never noticed this wild rose bush growing along the side. My old cell phone camera isn’t the greatest for up close and personal shots. That’s what I call a violent shade of pink. I wonder how I missed it before today.

Day One Hundred Thirty One 2012
RANDOM
The birds have discovered the mulberries, which make for a very colorful mess (literally) on the windshield of my car.
The baby birds have flown the nest and are everywhere. They, too, know a good mulberry when they see one.
Beautiful pink lilies basking in the sunshine
What an awesome day! Felt a bit like fall which is always OK with me.
And last but never least, Grandson Elijah played T Ball this evening. His team, the Diamondbacks, got beat by the Reds 17~11. They played well, though, and Elijah did some great fielding. They turned an eleven point lead into a six point lead. Not too shabby.

Day Eighty Nine 2012
God writes the gospel not in the Bible alone, but on trees and flowers and clouds and stars. ~Author unknown, commonly attributed to Martin Luther
Our little pink dogwood tree is blooming this year for the first time ever.

Day Eighty One 2012
I love the saying 'Never ignore anything in the shape of a heart.' Bleeding Hearts are blooming in my back yard right now, and how could I ignore these beautiful little heart-shaped flowers--some of my favorite spring eye candy.
