Day Twenty Five

Ghost Bird And Leaf Heart

The birds in flight are almost transparent--ghost birds.

I can't ignore anything in the shape of a heart--like this big leaf that was plastered by yesterday's rain to the sidewalk. Just had to stop and take a picture of this leaf heart.

Day Twenty Four

The Rains Came Down And The Floods Came Up

Sunday got a soaking here in my neck of the woods. This part of our back yard always floods in a heavy rain. The rain is gone for now, but I hear there is more on the way.

Day Twenty Three

Postcards From A Fun Saturday In January

Elijah and Shelby are ready for anything. Bring it on!

Kelly made this swimsuit model and swan with the kids' Play-Doh while we waited for our yummy pizza to be served at Momma Rosa's.

The day was blustery at times and kind of chilly but that didn't stop the kids (well, except for Kelly) from pulling off their shoes and socks and jumping on the trampoline, which hasn't seen any action since last Fall.

Elijah hangs in mid air for a brief moment before his big belly flop landing.
Kelly and Holly watched the monkeys--I mean, the kids--from the sidelines.

Shelby executes one of her swirls and twirls, performing some trampoline ballet.

The Tulip Poplar waits for Spring.
Good Times! Fun Saturday!

Day Twenty Two

Sign Of The Times

The Nashville Flea Market has been around for a long time, making its home every fourth weekend of every month at the Nashville Fairgrounds. This flea market is listed in the top ten flea markets in the nation. Neil and I have been junkin here regularly for the past six or seven years. But the current leadership in Nashville has the idea that this piece of property could better be used in some other (money making) way. If they get their wish, the Tennessee State Fair, the speedway, the flea market and a whole host of other events that take place there will soon be history. We beg to disagree and readily signed the petition to save the Nashville Fairgrounds. The city council will hold a meeting on the matter in February. In the meantime, the flea market is scheduled to run through the end of this year. Neil and I plan to visit as many as we can before another Nashville icon becomes a memory.

Day Twenty One

"The Path The Child Followed Home"

Neil had the day off today. He and Elijah (and Eddie, of course) went to meet Shelby as she walked from school. We had a stormy afternoon--rain, lightning, thunder. I hear some people had hail. These three (and Eddie, of course) didn't seem to mind walking home in the rain. We took the kids to the D.Q. for ice cream to celebrate Shelby's most excellent report card--two B's and the rest A's. I think the storms are over for now.
