Day Three Hundred Fifty One 2012

HAPPY 34TH BIRTHDAY, HOLLY!
img040
My daughter Holly celebrated her 34th birthday today. Here she was at the age of one, sitting on her Grandpa Ranft’s lap. They were pretty good buddies, and I know she’ll appreciate this picture because we were just remembering him today and how he always unclipped his clip on tie and hung it from the front of his shirt when he was done with it.

Happy birthday, dear daughter Holly! So hard to believe our Christmas baby is 34 years old. We wish you all the best of everything today and always. We love you more than you will ever know.

Day One Hundred Thirty Four 2012

Daughter Holly and granddaughter Shelby came by this afternoon to deliver a beautiful hanging basket of flowers, plus some citronella plants to keep the 'skeeters' away, and a sweet card, all to wish me a happy Mother's Day. Grandson Elijah stayed home with his dad to nurse an injured foot. Elijah was jumping over a big bouncy ball in his yard yesterday afternoon and landed on his foot in a way that hurt it pretty badly. His foot is swollen and very sore and he can't walk on it. For mom Holly, just another day in her busy life. She's a terrific mom and, alongside husband Jerry, is rearing two great kids. Happy Mother's Day, Holly!! I love you so much, and I'm happy that we got to spend a little time together today.

Day Ninety One 2012

IMG_4327
Daughters and grandkids spent Friday night with Neil and me. We stayed up late and woke up late and enjoyed Neil’s homemade blueberry waffles for breakfast. It was an awesome spring day so we headed outside where grand daughter Shelby communed with neighbor kitty Lily.
IMG_4334
We dusted off the jug of bubble soap and Shelby blew some bubble art.
IMG_4338
Temporary bubble art, big as your head!
IMG_4349
Grandson Elijah made friends with a caterpillar and named him ‘Jeff’.
IMG_4357
‘Jeff’ was a pretty fast crawler. Elijah put him in a paper cup with some grassy weeds to climb on.
IMG_4361
Grandson Knox was diggin’ the great outdoors, too, but didn’t get into the creepy crawly action. He’s a little wiggle worm in his own right.
IMG_4366
Saturday (and everyday) Peeps! Daughters Kelly and Holly and grandkids Elijah, Shelby, and Knox, who found more interesting things to look at than my camera.
IMG_4370
Bubble art with purple lilacs. Our lilac bush has lots of blooms this year.
IMG_4371
Also pretty in purple, a gorgeous iris, which is the Tennessee state flower. The end of winter and start of spring has been so hot that only a couple of the iris plants bloomed. Made me sad. Love these.
IMG_4374
Speaking of creepy crawlies…Neil was weeding around our house and almost put his hand on this snake. We think it was a copperhead which is poisonous. It was poised to strike, sticking its forked tongue out at us. I got close as I could to take this picture. (You can click on the picture to enlarge it if you like). Elijah said, “I hate snakes!” Shelby said, “Off with its head!” Neil obliged with his hoe. Gave all of us the willies!

Grandson Knox in a rare on-the-belly pose. Hard to believe he’ll be 4 months old on Monday. Good times, great memories! Happy Saturday, everyone!

Daughter Holly celebrated her 33rd birthday today. We enjoyed Thai food at Ocha Deli for her birthday dinner. Her birthday cake was her traditional favorite, a Baskin Robbins ice cream cake—chocolate chip ice cream with chocolate cake. She received lots of cool presents and cards. Can’t believe our almost-Christmas baby is 33. Happy Birthday, Holly! You are one of my sweetest blessings. I love you more than you can ever know.

Day Nine 2011

We always have big fun at Poet's On The Square right here in our town. Left to right: daughter Kelly, sister Jane, niece Julia, grand daughter Shelby, daughter Holly, and niece Sarah convened in the back room of Poet's for a couple of hours of sipping tasty treats--like frozen hot chocolate and mango orange smoothies (the best ever!)--while we generally misbehaved. We had the room to ourselves, so we didn't bother too many other coffee customers, and we left it the way we found it. Sort of. We did steal a few moments of fun. But don't tell anybody because this won't be the last time.

Day Three Hundred Fifty 2010

Happy 32nd Birthday, Holly!

My Christmas baby, daughter Holly, celebrated her 32nd birthday today. Here she is with her traditional Baskin-Robbins chocolate cake with chocolate chip ice cream.

She was four days old here--her first day home from the hospital. She came home tucked inside a red Christmas stocking. Holly, you are one of my greatest blessings--always have been and always will be. So glad you are mine! I love you and wish you every good thing today and always. Happy Birthday, Dear Daughter!

Day One Hundred Nine

On This Date In 2007 ...

All of my blasts from the past turn out to be grandson Elijah from 2007. (Mainly because I have tons of pictures of this kid and most of the digital pics on my computer begin in that year, in case you're wondering, which you probably aren't.) He was 8 months old here in his mommy Holly's arms at his sister Shelby's T-ball game. Perhaps I'll remember to take some new pictures tomorrow.

Day Seventy Nine

'Twilight Saga: New Moon' DVD Release Partay
After Midnight, March 20, 2010

This is why we were all up so late Friday night/Saturday morning. Sarah's tattoo says it all. 'Twilight Saga: New Moon' was released at midnight. Daughters, grand daughter, grand son, and nieces headed to Wal-Mart to snag their copies and enjoy a piece of 'New Moon' cake that the store served up.

Are you Team Edward? (Yes!)

Or are you Team Jacob? (No. But he's so cute...)

Sarah managed to get one of these cool water bottles featuring our favorite vampire boyfriend.

Let the tattoo-ing begin! Included with the DVDs were pages of great looking temporary Twilight Saga tattoos.

Sarah also got the Forks High School mascot tattoo (see first picture for her other tattoo).

Julia, who I think tends toward Team Jacob (but I think her fave is really Emmett) got Jacob's wolf pack tattoo.

Not to be left out, Elijah got a tattoo, which I think is the lion in the Cullen crest (I'm guessing). Although he stayed up to join in the fun, he didn't want to see the movie. Too scary.

Shelby got the feather tattoo, one on each arm. She wasn't sure what it meant. I told her it was from Jacob's tribe.

Kelly got the Cullen crest tattoo, I think. (Somebody please chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.)

Neil popped up several batches of his tasty popcorn and we were all set to watch the movie. It ended sometime after three A.M. (Sarah fell asleep about halfway through) And we didn't get to bed until four A.M. But that was okay. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing it again after all these months of waiting for the DVD release. Up next: 'Eclipse'!! Can't wait until June 30!

Day Twenty Seven

Happy 9Th Wedding Anniversary, Holly And Jerry!

Daughter Holly and son in law Jerry were married January 27, 2001. Hard to believe they're already celebrating nine years of marriage. I can't get over how young they look in this picture. It's one of my favorite pictures of them.

The Myers Family has grown over the past nine years. Here they are with daughter Shelby and son Elijah. What an awesome family! You all are a blessing to me and everyone who knows you. I love you so much and wish you every happiness today and throughout all the years to come!
Happy Anniversary!

Day Twenty Three

Postcards From A Fun Saturday In January

Elijah and Shelby are ready for anything. Bring it on!

Kelly made this swimsuit model and swan with the kids' Play-Doh while we waited for our yummy pizza to be served at Momma Rosa's.

The day was blustery at times and kind of chilly but that didn't stop the kids (well, except for Kelly) from pulling off their shoes and socks and jumping on the trampoline, which hasn't seen any action since last Fall.

Elijah hangs in mid air for a brief moment before his big belly flop landing.
Kelly and Holly watched the monkeys--I mean, the kids--from the sidelines.

Shelby executes one of her swirls and twirls, performing some trampoline ballet.

The Tulip Poplar waits for Spring.
Good Times! Fun Saturday!

Day Three Hundred Fifty One

Christmas Party At Morningside

Shelby, Santa, and Elijah share some smiles and candy canes.

Julia, Sarah, and Holly add some bling to the tree.

These people have had too much sweet tea to drink. Holly, Sarah, me, and Ann....doing who knows what.

Mom/Granny and Kelly share some holiday smiles.

Jane knew Kerry would look better with some rabbit ears. Ken and Don = life of the party.

We let brother Ken get away too soon before Kelly took this group shot of Mom and the kids. Me, Ann, Mom, and Jane. Oh yeah, girls rock! We all enjoyed a jolly good time and a tasty meal and hope to do it all over again this time next year.
