Day One Hundred Seventy Eight 2013

Fresh and Frozen - Vintage Fruit
old fruit
Feeling patriotic today. Or maybe fruity. I’m not sure what inspired me to arrange fresh strawberries and frozen blueberries on this plate I bought at the Nashville Flea Market last Friday. The vintage feel of the plate seemed to call for a vintage photo look, so I ran the photo through filters and frames on http://pixlr.com/o-matic/ and here you go. More fun than a human being should be allowed to have in the span of fifteen minutes.  Happy Thursday, everyone! Hope yours was inspired.

Day One Hundred Seventy Seven 2013

Granddaughter Shelby and grandson Elijah spent the day with me today. We finally took a break from veg'ing out and headed to one of our favorite sweet shops for yummy doughnuts. This may have been the highlight of our whole day. It’s Summer, so we’re allowed.

Day One Hundred Seventy Six 2013

0625031159
In the summertime you never know who might show up for lunch with peeps in Dogwood Park. From left: great nephew Ethan, brother Ken, hubby Neil, nephew Chris, sister Jane, sister Ann, niece Julia, and great niece Ashley. We have a good time together, sharing stories and laughs and an occasional cool breeze. Hot day. Cool peeps! Until next time ….

Day One Hundred Seventy Five 2013

One is the loneliest number ~ so it is for this Calla Lily that blooms in our back yard every Summer. She’s right on time. Why don’t we have more of these in our yard? I’m sure she’d love some company.

Day One Hundred Seventy Four 2013

A picture a day for a year. This is the mantra of the 365 blogger. Sometimes I take way more than one picture in a day’s time. And then there are days like today when I realize I haven’t taken any pictures and the day is nearly gone. On my way out the door to head to Sunday evening worship service, I noticed this grasshopper sitting there, and I figured he/she wouldn’t mind becoming Day 174/13. And thanks, grasshopper, for not jumping on me.
