Day One Hundred Fifty Seven 2010

D-Day

I posted this last year on this date. D-Day, June 6, 1944, was the beginning of the end of World War II. When I look at this picture, I know that a lot of these soldiers never made it to the beach, and a lot of those who did were killed instantly. Remembering the soldiers who gave their lives to free the world of tyranny. And thank God for those who did survive the onslaught and went on to fight and came home to tell the tale. We can't be thankful enough for their sacrifice.

Lots of Americans seem to forget this - and even more don't even realize!!!

Frightening picture... how scared they must have been, walking straight into bullets, watching fellow soldiers fall and die right in front of them... how anyone survived I'll never know... thank goodness for the brave.
